MEMBERS of the 1st Tavistock Scouts (Beavers) were treated to a tour of the police station recently as part of one of their challenge badges,
PCSOs Kevin Williams and Mark Canvin showed the youngsters the open plan office and the interview room, where children were fascinated with the tape recorder —most of whom had never seen one before.
The youngsters were shown a taser, a baton and handcuffs. The PCSOs explained to the youngsters how their job was to help and assist people, not just make arrests.
