CONTINUING their recent form, the Tavistock Swimming Club Open Men's team again showed their dominance in a relay event.

Competing in the City of Plymouth Championships, the team of Michael Best, Nathaniel Rookes, Gareth Williams and Matt Edwards were up against tough opposition in the form of teams from Kelly College, Devonport Royal, Dinnaton and Plymouth Leander in the 200m freestyle relay. Recent form from training and competition saw the team in high confidence and this was shown right from the start as Mike Best lead off with a clear focus and determination, leaving the team in contention for a medal.

Nathaniel Rookes, the newest addition to this relay quartet, showed just what he was made of with a strong second leg that left the team lying in second position. Gareth Williams showed his experience by bringing the team into sight of the trophy.

Finally, new Club Captain, Matt Edwards held his nerve and clinched victory in a new championship record time.

Victory was made sweeter as the men beat local rivals and friends from Devonport (second) and Kelly College (third).
