TAVISTOCK girls started fairly well, putting Lipson United under pressure from the first. However, Lipson were excellent at playing the defensive game.
Lipson?s players were also very good in the air. Davey, Bassett, McMullin and Bryant all linking up well for Tavistock. Some excellent defending by Barratt and Page was called for at times.
In the second half Lipson got the first goal, as a scramble emerged in the goalmouth after Honey saved the initial shot. As it was coming up to full time, Tavistock?s Davies, who was brought on as a substitute, equalised just before the final whistle.
Lipson were then awarded a penalty and scored ? Lipson 2-1. Tavistock now trailing, time short, they pushed everyone forward, Bassett scored from a long range shot which was slightly deflected ? 2-2.
The match went in to penalties with Tavistock getting two goals and Lipson three.
