TAVISTOCK hosted a well drilled and smartly turned out Launceston. Three games were played to enable all of Tavistock?s 21-player squad to enjoy match conditions.
In the first game, Marcus Hoddinott and George Carter were in excellent form, scoring the home team?s points, with Marcus? second coming after a perfectly executed scissors movement.
The game was always close with Kris Chapman and Laurence Harrison pressing the visitors? line and Tom Jackman, Ben Steel and James Perring linking well.
In the second game Jonnie Massey, player of the match Alex Williams and Ryan Passmore showed strong, confident running. Imogen Muir and Joe Lindsay worked hard in support, allowing Alex Ferguson and Ben Hosking to apply the finishing touches with two well taken tries. Launceston were always competitive and tries in the opening games from Andy, Connor and Rhys were a just reward.
The final game saw Zak Brinkhurst and Daniel Dobie scoring excellent tries with powerful runs. David Northey and Nick Jory looked threatening. Matthew Dobie was always close to the action which concluded with an excellent try from Adam Brinkhurst.
