CHRISTMAS came early for Ginsters employee Martyn Pope, who was announced as the winner of a brand new Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec, thanks to Focus DIY and the Mirror newspaper.

Focus DIY has teamed up with Ford and the Mirror and is running a nationwide competition, giving away six Ford Focus cars over the next six weeks. Martyn, 45 was the first winner to be selected from the draw,

Martyn, who lives in Milehouse, said: 'This is such a fantastic prize and it will certainly be a Christmas to remember for me and my family. 

'It took a while to sink in after I took the phone call.

'I have never won anything like this so I'm really pleased to have won.

'I entered the competition after visiting the Focus DIY store and forgot about it so it comes as a great surprise. I was considering buying a new second hand car in 2011 but to have won the brand new Ford Focus is a real bonus.' 

Focus DIY store manager Andrew Pollard said: 'We'd like to say a huge congratulations to Martyn and his family. It's great to bring such good news and it has certainly created a buzz around the store.'

There are five more Ford Focus 1.6 Zetecs to be won, worth more than £16,000 each.
