TAMAR Grow Local, in collaboration with the National Trust, is developing a regular market stall on Cotehele Quay over the coming months.
The stall will be selling produce including strawberries, raspberries, apple juice, mustards, cut flowers and fresh vegetables all grown and made in the Tamar Valley.
Visitors to the quay will also be able to sign up for bee keeping courses, Bohetherick Farm beef and pork boxes as well as community agriculture projects and courses taking place in the valley.
Simon Platten from Tamar Grow Local said: 'We are really looking forward to showcasing the wonderful produce we have growing all around us in the Tamar Valley.
'Much of the produce is made and grown within a few miles of the quay so it is a great opportunity for holiday makers and local people to see what is available.'
Joe Lawrence for Cotehele said: 'Cotehele Quay would have been a busy hub in the nineteenth century where local produce such as strawberries and flowers would have been loaded on to barges similar to the Shamrock and sailed down the river to Plymouth, so it is great to see local produce being traded on the quay once again.'
The market stall will be located on Cotehele Quay this Sunday (August 26), Sunday September 23 and Sunday October 21, between 11am and 4pm.
