THE application by Okehampton Farmers? Market for grant funding from Okehampton Town Council to assist with moving the monthly market outside is likely to be discussed by councillors later this month. Town councillors last week made a decision to request that the farmers? market re-submit a grant application. The farmers? market has already received pledges of £10,811 from Devon Renaissance and £6,000 from West Devon Borough Council, and is seeking a further £2,000 from the town council. The matter could go before councillors at the policy and resources committee meeting on Monday, September 18. l Okehampton Town Council had to cancel its scheduled meetings on Monday week. Due to the recent postal strike at the Exeter sorting office, many members had not received their agendas and so a decision was taken to re-convene the committees for a later date.
