Tavistock girls U15s 10
TAVISTOCK were again augmented by Launceston in this match, against a strong experienced Exeter Saracens side. Three early tries by Exeter were the difference between the teams, but the second half was an even match.
Powerful scrummaging of the Exeter forwards gave them total possession of the ball after the set pieces allowed Exeter to get well ahead Tightening up in the scrum improved the possession ratio to give the tighter second half.
Lauren Dawe was back at centre, not quite back to her best in attack, but awesome in defence.
She showed the way for the new girls out on the wings Fia David and Fen Eastaugh who stopped the fierce attacks of the Exeter threes on numerous occasions.
In the best phase of the match Tavistock ran in two well worked tries. The Tavistock forwards with Beth Hodgkiss and Kim Upcott sucking in the Exeter forwards released Lily Mills, who found enough space to allow the long legs of Lucy Jones to run round the Exeter defence to score in the corner.
This was followed by some excellent straight running by Lizzie Crocker at outside centre to score against probably the strongest team in Devon.

IN the second match following directly on from the Exeter game, tiring legs allowed Exmouth to get the better of Tavistock.
This game was equal until one missed tackle allowed Exmouth through on the outside and a second through the middle brought Exmouth out of sight in the dying minutes of the game.
Lily Hilson was exceptional in her running and tackling to keep Exmouth at bay until the second half.
The improvement in the Tavistock performance is marked. If they continue this way competing with the best teams in Devon, they will soon be able to hold their own, and maybe create an upset.
