Tavistock 1 Marjon 4 AFTER the previous week?s victory over Plymouth Uni Tavistock firsts hockey team were desperate for more points, but this Marjon side which lay second in the table were going to be no walk over. The game started off at a high pace with both teams attacking each other?s D but with no success. With the centre of the midfield consisting of Way and Barrett the distribution was working well, giving the forwards of Honey and Wilson good attacking chances. It was not until the stroke of half-time where Marjons were given a penalty flick which they capitalised on giving them a lead going into the break. The second half saw Tavistock weaken and lose a lot of their structure in the midfield which gave Marjon opportunities to score which they did in quick succession. The last five minutes saw Tavistock regain a bit of spirit and from a well worked move from Honey to Way they scored with a consolation goal but it was not enough to give them any points.
