THE ladies of Okehampton Golf Club played a qualifying medal. The course was in excellent condition and the players enjoyed a dry sunny day of golf.
Marcia Guy won the silver division with a net 73 closely followed by Penny Deakin net 74 and third was Jane Warren nett 77. The day however belonged to the vice captain Jenny Hutchinson who won the bronze division with a wonderful net 69 to bring her handicap down to 21. Second was Mary Keir net 75 and third Doris Jewell.
On Saturday a four ball better ball Stableford competition was held on a beautiful autumn morning. Winners of division one were Jullian Bennett and Graham Hows with 42 points; second, Gareth Holt and Lee Pengelly with 41 on the back nine from Kevin Perryman and Harold Penna.
Division two winners were father and son combination Andrew and Lewis Parry with 44 points, second with 41 points were another father son combination Phil and Nicholas Hobbs with 41 and Steve Browne and Keith Lee were third with 40.
