TOP wheelchair athlete Kenny Herriot will be passing through Two Bridges and Postbridge today (Thursday) on day three of his challenge from Land's End to John O' Groats on a specially designed hand cycle. Kenny, who has competed in marathons all over the world, hopes the gruelling 17-day challenge will raise a record £100,000 for a Scottish children's charity based in his home town of Aberdeen. Last night (Wednesday) the athlete and his supporters stopped over in Tavistock before embarking on what was expected to be one of the most challenging parts of the 1,000-mile route. Kenny smashed the British record for the marathon in 2005, five years after breaking his back in a motorcycle accident. His story of determination is an inspiration to the charity Cash for Kids who raise money to support young people in need and to give them a helping hand in life. He is hoping to raise £100,000 for the charity.
