A MAN had to be rescued by fire crews after collapsing in Lydford Gorge on Good Friday.

Two crews from Tavistock, one from Okehampton and a special rescue team from Camelshead attended the incident at around 2.20pm to assist the 46-year old man.

The crews helped the paramedics in getting the man out of the gorge and he was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
