A man was trapped in his car after it was in collison with a tree at Denham Bridge, Bere Alston last Thursday morning.

Fire crews from Bere Alston and Yelverton were called to the incident at 6.52am to free the trapped man.

Crews set to work using hydraulic cutting equipment to release the man, who was then taken to hospital.

l Fire crews were sent to put out a fire in a barn last week in Bere Alston.

The electrical fire started in a two-storey barn in Tavistock Road on Thursday evening, used as a milk store and general store, but was confined to the second floor compartment and roof space.

The crews used six breathing apparatus, two hose reels, ladders, lighting and a thermal image camera to extinguish the fire.
