A 45-YEAR-old man has been bailed by police following an incident in Callington a week ago in which an air rifle was seized.
At around 8.25am on December 2 police were called to Tavistock Road following concerns for the welfare of a man, who indicated to a member of the public that he intended to harm himself.
The member of the public was concerned as the man appeared to be in possession of some type of firearm and a dog.
Due to the nature of the incident, officers attended the nearby Callington Community College and ensured the students were kept indoors while the incident was ongoing as a precautionary measure.
Following enquiries police later discovered a suspect at a nearby location. An air rifle was seized and a man arrested. No-one was harmed throughout the incident.
Officers confirmed this week the man had been bailed to appear again at a police station on January 10.
