THE Wren Trust, with Okehampton Community College, are starting a Junk Music band in Okehampton. No musical experience is necessary, and all instruments will be provided from Wren's own Junk rig. . .
Junk music is played on instruments made from things that have been thrown away, using simple rhythms and sounds to build up into a piece of music. As in the previous Blue Peter theme tune by the Yes No People.
Wren were involved with starting Weapons of Sound in Plymouth who have made numerous television appearances including the Big Breakfast and Barrymore. All you have to do is turn up and play.
Starting on Thursday March 1 in the Octagon Theatre from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. The workshops are free to attend and open to anybody over 12 years old.
