THE Leonard Cheshire Disability charity held its 2008 'Make a Difference Day' event at Meadowlands Pool in Tavistock.

This year's event, held in conjunction with the Community for Voluntary Service branches around the country, was to find out how accessible sporting facilities are to people with a disability.

A group of more than 20 service users and volunteers went for a swim and completed surveys which will be fed into a national report on how accessible facilities are around the country.

Thanks were expressed to Meadowlands pool and the pool side café for their help.

Leonard Cheshire supports more than 21,000 disabled people in the UK. It campaigns for change and provides opportunities for disabled people to live life to the full.
