DJM U12s Thistles U 12s 4 Woolwell U12s 4 THISTLES extended their unbeaten run to four games as they came back to secure a thoroughly deserved point in a thrilling match at Crowndale. When Woolwell waltzed through Thistles' defence in the first minute to score the first goal, Thistles' supporters wondered whether they would witness a repeat of the 6-0 scoreline when these two teams last met. But Thistles soon equalised when Adam Cowan-King threaded the ball through to Corey Hancock, who cleverly placed the ball past the Woolwell keeper. Woolwell regained the lead after Kieran Calvert headed a Woolwell free kick off the line and against the bar only to see the ball spin out of the keeper's hands into the net. Woolwell made it 3-1 when a good passing movement left Thistles' keeper, Roger Blandford no chance. In the second half, Thistles turned the game around when Adam again provided the pass for man of the match Corey Hancock to chip the keeper. The equaliser soon followed when a Woolwell player under pressure from Jordan Eales, headed a corner past his own keeper. It was end to end stuff. Nathan Holland was making his presence felt in midfield and the talented Matt Bragg was coming more into the game on the right wing. Thistles, however, conceded a free-kick on the edge of the box. A good shot evaded the wall and skidded past Thistles' keeper. It was 4-3 to Woolwell. Time was slipping away when Roger made a great save. It looked as though Woolwell would hang on to their lead. Then Thistles' captain Will Lane picked up the ball in his own half and ran forward. He beat three players before sprinted into the heart of the Woolwell defence and swerved passed two defenders. The Woolwell keeper came out but Will was there first to bury the ball into the net for a superb goal.
