CHILDREN at Bere Alston School held two special productions of their nativity play — and added their own touch of magic to enthrall an audience of entertained and proud parents. All of the 191 pupils, aged between four and a half and 11 years old, took part in the show last week with the parts in the nativity itself performed by the year two children while year six pupils provided the narration. With the costumes provided by the parents and the children themselves helping with all the props, the whole production was a great success under the directorship of Leslie Wright. Music played an essential part of the production with the children singing in the choir and others drumming and recording under the musical direction of Carilyn Govier. Staff said they were very pleased with the response to the the event and all the children deserved praise for their efforts.
