A WALKHAMPTON school girl strutted her stuff to win a dance contest on holiday and has been invited to a national final.
Madelaine Miles, 12, won the weekly freestyle dance competition at Pontin?s in Brixham at the end of June.
The Tavistock College student now has the chance to go to a special finals weekend at Pontin?s Brean Sands in Somerset in December.
The final will involve all the weekly winners from Pontin?s holiday centres round the country and Madelaine might find herself dancing against hundreds of others.
Her winnings on the day were a medallion, a certificate and a £10 prize voucher which she ?swapped with her mum, who spent it at the bar.?
Madelaine said: ?I?m pleased. I?ve never taken dance lessons, I just made it all up.
?I don?t know if I?ll go to the final, we?ve been told it?s a big thing and some people take it very seriously and dress up and everything ? but I?m not really a serious person.
?I was going to spend the money on some trousers I wanted but there weren?t any left. I?m saving up more money now for something big.?
