Macmillan Cancer Relief has cancelled its support bus visit planned for Tavistock on Monday.

Macmillan Cancer Support said: Macmillan’s priority is the health and well-being of people with cancer, our staff and volunteers.

‘With the ever-changing situation around Covid-19 we have taken the difficult decision to stop the delivery of our Mobile Information and Support Service with immediate effect. This means that our planned bus visit to Devon (Tavistock, Plymouth, Kingsteignton and Exeter) next week on Monday, March 23 to Friday, March 27 has been cancelled.

‘As much as we’d like our support staff to be there for you closer to home, we want to support the NHS and make sure that we are doing all we can in the effort to minimise the spread of the virus.’

Comprehensive information and support, including our latest guidance and advice on the impact of coronavirus on cancer care, is available on www.macmillan.org.uk and our online community continues to provide invaluable emotional and peer support. The Macmillan Support Line is open Monday - Friday between 9am-5pm on 0808 808 00 00.

‘We are sorry that our Bertie bus won’t be coming to Devon next week or a town near you in the near future. We will be monitoring the situation over the coming weeks and will be rearranging our visits as soon as we can,’ said the charity.
