A STAGGERING £8,200 was recently presented to the Children's Hospice South West, thanks to charity lunches held throughout January and February at the Horn of Plenty in Gulworthy.

A two-course lunch was available for £12 per person and at each table during those two months a Gift Aid envelope was placed giving all diners the chance to donate money to CHSW.

Judy Pride, CHSW community fundraiser for Plymouth and West Devon, said: 'This is an incredible amount raised.

'The lunch prices were reduced so that people who would not normally be able to have lunch at the Horn of Plenty can do so — and then they are able to make a donation.'
