THE Lunch Club in Tavistock, which is run by Sheryl Burroughs and Val Bugden Cawsey, had their own Christmas lunch at Launceston Golf Club last month.

Members decided that instead of sending cards to each other they would have a collection and £90 was raised. Tavistock superstore Tesco kindly agreed to match whatever money was collected.

With the help of assistant store manager Ashley (pictured), Sheryl Burroughs went for a shop in the Plymouth Road store and the items purchased were taken to The Food Bank in Tavistock.

After asking the charity what it would like before the shop, a number of luxury seasonal items were donated to help make someones’ Christmas a bit more special.

The Lunch Club thanked Tesco for its generosity.
