ANIMAL charity Margaret Green Animal Rescue is appealing for animal lovers who might be able to offer a home to a black cat this Hallowe'en.

Niki and Alan Ging, joint managers of Wingletang rescue and rehoming centre, near Tavistock, said: 'We have some adorable cats in rescue at the moment, including brothers Bob and Marley — a delightful pair of almost identical 18 month old cats.

'We also have the very handsome Toby, who suffered from severe stress before he arrived at Wingletang and had lost almost all of his fur.

'After many weeks of rehabilitation, Toby has overcome his worries and loves a cuddle.'

Traditionally linked to witches, black cats are believed to bring good luck — yet the charity finds them the hardest felines to rehome. Margaret Green Animal Rescue is hoping prospective owners will choose the spookiest time of the year to adopt their very own lucky charm.

Niki added: 'We don't know why black cats are less popular than tabbies and gingers but certainly we have several black cats that would love to find new homes.'

The charity also has several other kittens as well as young and older cats looking for homes.
