A MUCH improved performance saw Lamerton share the points against a well organised Altarnun side.
Lamerton started well and took the lead after 10 minutes when Jimmy Cole fired home after good work by Matt Wills and Sean Cann.
They then laid siege to the home goal with Cann having two headers and one volley just wide and Andy Williams firing at the keeper having been put through by a one-two with Tony Jones.
A rare Altarnun break saw them equalise through Louis Hill, whose shot hit the underside of the bar, bouncing just over the line.
Playing up the slope and against the wind in the second half, Lamerton continued to create chances, with Cole, Jones and Wills all coming close.
When Richard Horn headed into the arms of the Altarnun keeper Lamerton could sense it was not to be their day.
Richard Downing had an excellent game in the heart of the defence with full backs Lee Rowe and Andy Williams pushing forward at every opportunity.
