PRIMARY School pupils opened the Meavy Oak Fair with a pageant followed by an exhibition of Maypole dancing on Saturday on the village green.

The event included the Burrator Horseshoe Run and a family fun dog show.

There was also music throughout the afternoon provided by swing and jazz band Desperate Measures.

Other attractions included a barbecue, hog roast, cream teas, craft stalls, bouncy castle, face painting, children's entertainer and pony rides.
