TAVISTOCK Methodist Church (TMC) is holding a 'Nearly new toys, clothes and equipment sale' plus the opportunity of buying gifts from craft stalls — all in one morning!

The idea was initially to help support the families linked with TMC, to give them the chance to make a few extra pounds for Christmas by selling their good quality children's items which they have cluttering up their homes, as well as offering the opportunity to get some great bargains before Christmas.

One of TMC's family workers, Julie Baylis, said: 'We have over 200 families who come to our six toddler groups, our crafty club and messy church events alone, and so I'm often hearing of how families have surplus toys etc they want to sell and so offering them the opportunity to do just that is great.

'Also, some of our mums have stepped out into new adventures of running their own 'craft' businesses and so being able to help support these women is the least we can do.'

To help these families further, TMC will not be charging any stall holders but will welcome any donations which will be forwarded to the project of 'Mind the Gap — Africa' , a charity which has been working in Zimbabwe since 2006, with the aim of rescuing abandoned or orphaned children and placing them in a 'Forever Home'.

The toy and craft sale will take place on Saturday, December 6 from 10am until 12.30pm at the church.

There will be a 20p entry fee and refreshments will be available.
