A GROUP of ?lost mules? have found their way and are heading to South Zeal, bringing boogie woogie and electric blues along for the ride. On Saturday December 15 the ?90s blues band, ?The Lost Mules,? will be performing in the Phoenix Bar, behind the King?s Arms, in South Zeal. Tickets are a steal at £2.50 with half of the takings going to Cancer Research UK. The Lost Mules (pictured right) worked with the BBC in the mid-?90s and today are currently working on new material. They say the night will be suited to those who want to relax and listen or, later in the evening, get up and dance. The line-up includes West Devon residents Bob Pilbeam, on drums, and Anthony Power, playing bass guitar. In addition to the Lost Mules, the evening will be opened by Bridestowe-based ?Hannah and the Madding Crowd,? an accomplished West Devon folk/rock unit whose music is described as, ?open-hearted West Country folk, that swells around the songs like a many-stringed hug.? Doors open at 8.30pm and tickets can only be bought on the night. The bar will be run by the King?s Arms and any additional donations to Cancer Research UK will also be invited.
