TAVISTOCK, going into their second cup semi-final in succession, knew they would have to work hard.
St Jude?s settled the quicker of the two teams and had the defence of Hillson, McLaughlin, Kelly and Shutler under pressure for a few minutes. But Town soon started to take the game to St Jude?s and were rewarded with a free kick which saw Kelly float the ball in and Scott apply the finish.
Great pressure by Doidge saw him get his reward by scoring his first of the game.
The second half saw Town change their formation with Ewing slotting back into midfield and Scott joining Doidge up front. The third goal came shortly into the half when a cross by Doidge saw Backaller slot past the keeper.
The midfield of Wallace and Ewing worked hard and delivered some lovely balls to the front men. They were rewarded when Doidge got his second of the game and Ewing added the fifth.
Town now go onto their second successive cup final against AFC Plympton.
