Bridestowe v Tavistock

TAVISTOCK won the toss and elected to bowl first. Johny Smith and Brett Thomas opened for Tavistock and after the first 16 overs bowled, Bridestowe found themselves on 40 for 4 with Smith Picking up three wickets and Thomas the one.

Aidan Mason and Jamie Stephens were introduced into the attack and both bowled tight to the stumps picking up a wicket apiece. A good middle order partnership from Jutson and Hunt meant Bridestowe were pushing towards a respectable total on a wicket where runs were hard to come by.

Further wickets taken by Milligan, Freddie Jayarajah who bowled four overs for just three runs and picked up two wickets in the process and a run-out aided by a sharp bit of work behind the stumps by keeper Rhys Davies meant Bridestowe ended the innings on 117 all out.

Tavistock opened the batting with Freddie Jayarajah and Adam Chidzoy and both batted well on an awkward wicket and against a tight bowling attack.

Tavistock lost three quick wickets when Jayarajah was caught in the covers for 23, Rhys Davies then came in at number three and was very unlucky to be run-out by his batting partner without facing a ball. Chidzoy was the next to depart after being trapped LBW off the bowling of Hunt for 21.

Sam Willetts and Rob Milligan steadied the ship for Tavistock for several overs before Willetts was bowled by Hunt.

Tavistock suffered a major batting collapse and only Milligan offered any resistance for Tavistock, batting sensibly and hitting boundaries whenever possible. Tavistock were finally all out for 98 with Milligan left on 24 not out. Bridestowe won the game by 19 runs.
