MORE than 100 people will take part in the 15th annual Dartmoor Challenge ? a two day, 30-mile walk in aid of CLIC Sargent, the UK?s leading children?s cancer charity ? on April 29. The Lord Mayor of Plymouth, Patrick Nicholson, will officially start the event from Princetown. Teams of 25 will cover 15 miles each day visiting various tors. The annual challenge has raised more than £60,000 to help children with cancer and their families over the past 15 years. Steve Parker, who organises the event, said it had grown tremendously over the years: ?The event is well manned and each team will be guided by two experienced moor climbers,? he said. Ten children are diagnosed with cancer every 48 hours in the UK. Anyone wishing to take part should contact Mr Parker on 01822 890353.
