FOLLOWING a spate of petty vandalism on the grounds of Whitchurch Primary School, Tavistock police are appealing to local people to keep an eye out and report anything suspicious.
Youths are believed to be responsible for ongoing problems, which include breaking a slide and attempting to set fire to a bin.
In a recent incident wine bottles were smashed making it dangerous for young children to play in the area.
The incidents have been occurring in the evenings and at weekends, and PC Alastair Fry warns the public that straying on to school grounds outside school hours is trespassing.
He said: ?The school and the police are reminding people that nobody is allowed on the premises after school closes for the day.
?We will be stepping up our patrols in the area to try and stop this happening again.?
