TAVISTOCK men?s seconds hockey team secured their first league win this season against a well organised side.

Despite only having ten players OPMs rattled the Tavistock defence by going one up within the first 15 minutes. Tavistock finally got the equaliser with good link up play between Newman Snr and Newman Jnr who sent the goalkeeper the wrong way.

With a well rehearsed routine the second goal finally came with a cross from Honey Jnr, Mackintosh was able to slot the ball into the net.

After the interval Tavistock made some excellent passing moves. With a player short OPMs could not get back into the game. It did not take long for the third goal and after constant attacks on the away side, new player Houghton scored his first for the club with just a tap over the line.

With a break down the right wing Houghton crossed the ball into the D for Mackintosh to get his second goal. Tavistock got a penalty flick and Young made no mistake.

OPMs managed a consolation goal but it came too late.

Tavistock played well and with an abundance of new players joining the squad the rest of the season looks promising.
