TIDY Tavi volunteers will be setting out for their first litter-picking session of 2017 today (January 7).

Organisers have said it was noticeable that a good deal of litter had built up around Tavistock over the Christmas and New Year period, so a special effort would be required to help clear the streets.

Anyone who would like to help out can meet the team outside Meadowlands Leisure Centre at 10am on Saturday.

Litter pickers, hi-vis jackets and rubbish bags will be provided as usual. Just wear clothing appropriate to the weather, including stout footwear and bring a pair of gloves.
