THE Oxfam Unwrapped catalogue for alternative gifts in spring and summer 2007 is now available in both Tavistock and Okehampton Oxfam shops. With Easter and the summer wedding season in mind, this scheme allows customers to offer another kind of present, which will make a difference in 47 countries around the world. Besides the alpaca present for £20 or the goat packages for £24, eight other gifts can be purchased from two textbooks (£5) to an emergency shelter (£50). Customers may choose from a selection of ten cards to send to the recipient, together with a magnet illustrating the gift. These gifts give vulnerable people a spring of hope and a chance to help themselves to a better life.
