PEOPLE wishing to improve their golf can now benefit from a new on-line tips service set up by Yelverton Golf Club.
Professional golfers Tim McSherry and Simon Wood have set up an e-mail account to handle incoming queries from players looking to improve their game.
They intend to reply to all queries left at
[email protected]">[email protected] within a couple of days.
Simon explained the idea had come to them during a round of golf.
?We were playing a game one day and talking about why the majority of golfers don?t have lessons,? he said.
?Often, they still have problems with their game, so we thought setting this up might help.?
He said the club would consider posting a website if the new tips service proved a success.
Simon added that the on-line advice service was not a substitute for proper lessons.
?Obviously there?s only so much you can learn from a screen ? if you were taking an exam you would learn more from a lecture than from reading a book.?
