Tavistock Colts 35
Plymstock AO Colts 10
TAVISTOCK continued their winning run with all six tries coming from good handling and great pace around the pitch.
The first score came from a turnover ball that was worked to Jack Bond who outpaced the defence to go over. Josh Leeson converted.
The next try came from a Tavistock scrum on halfway where good handling by Niall Murphy, George Rogers and Tom Thursby released Monty Burdfield who raced down the wing to go in at the corner.
The home side's pace was causing the visitors all sorts of problems and following a break to their 22 by Dan Cunningham, a pick up by George Rogers saw him double back, round the defence and touchdown in the corner.
The visitors were making use of their forwards to try and keep some possession but tremendous tackling by Hallam Bourton and Jack Miller kept them at bay. Eventually their pressure paid off and they went in at the corner.
Tavistock responded with a penalty from Jez Cramoyson. The lead was increased as a turn over ball was worked across to George Rogers whose express pace left the visitors defence floundering as he went in for his second try.
Back came Plymstock and following a five metre tap penalty they drove over the line for their second try. Both sides were now trading possession as they both looked for a way through the respective defences.
A Tavistock scrum in their own half saw Mark Friend break off the back, fend off a couple of tackles and race up the wing to score in the corner. Tavistock's final score came from Jack Bond who was on the receiving end of a good handling move which enabled him to go in at the corner and round off a thoroughly entertaining match.
