THE Christmas draw organised by the Lions Club of Tavistock raised around £1,000 for local charities.

The success of the draw was very much due to the generosity of Martin and Nina Hawkins of Tavistock Picture Framing Gallery, who donated the first prize of a signed, limited edition print of a Timmy Mallett picture.

The lucky winner was Chris Bones from Stowford, who received his prize from club vice president Richard Hamer. Richard thanked Martin and Nina for their continued support and said that it was great that the winning ticket had in fact been purchased at the gallery.
