TAVISTOCK and District Muscular Dystrophy Group received a £700 boost thanks to the area's Lions Club. The money, raised during the Lions' Christmas draw, was handed over at the Union Inn. David Dodd, vice chairman of the group, thanked the Lions for the generous donation and said the money would be used in the ongoing project to provide holidays for youngsters in the area who suffer from muscular dystrophy. He presented the club with a thank you certificate. David is pictured receiving the cheque from Lions president Keith Penney. Also shown are Lion members Carol Gawn, who organised the draw, and Lyn Roberts, who is holding the certificate. Picture by James Bird
