PRESIDENT of the Lions Club of Tavistock Alan Wroath and Lions member Elaine Jones are pictured left with some of the winners of Lions Young Leaders in Service Awards.

These awards recognise young people between the ages of eleven and 18 who provide significant levels of service to their communities.

There are two award levels — the silver seal award for young people who provide at least 50 hours of service to their community during a 12-month period and the gold seal award for those who provide at least 100 hours of service during a 12-month period.

Silver award winners were Beth Abel, Megan Abel, Jess Dingle, Holly Gibbs, Daire O'Shea, Kate Pilkington, Jemima Simpson and Francesca White. Gold winners were Laura Eggins, Laura Hooper, Ailish Piper and Amy Dymond.

Amy, through the youth café, and Ailish, through the guides, contributed almost 400 hours between them.
