SOME of the top artists in the folk world will be guests at the 24th Dartmoor Folk Festival at South Zeal in August.
Confirmed for the three-day event on August 10, 11 and 12 are Jez Lowe, the Frazer Sisters, Pete and Sue Coe and Alice Jones, The Old Hat Dance Band, Kieron Means, Graham O'Callaghan, Tim Van Eyken and Rob Harbron and the Cornwall songwriters — the Cry of Tin.
Other acts include well known names such as Tony Beard (The Wag from Widecombe) and the Dartmoor Pixie Band. Several Morris and dance teams will also be attending.
A friendly traditional festival, events include the broom dance championships, Dartmoor step dance championships, A Dartmoor fayre, craft displays, dances, music hall, ceilidh, workshops and children's entertainment.
The Dartmoor Folk Festival was founded by local musician Bob Cann to help revive and preserve the traditions of Dartmoor.
