A PUPIL at Okehampton Primary has played her part in promoting one of the town's best shopping attractions.
Children in Year 1 entered a competition at the end of last year to design a logo for the Victorian Arcade.
As part of a project studying Victorians, children were asked to create a Victorian-themed design, with the best being chosen to become the Victorian Arcade's permanent logo as part of an effort to promote the shops there.
Lila Lyndon's design of a Victorian gentleman in a top hat was selected as the winner. Andrew Morgan from the shop OK Leisure visited the school on Tuesday to present Lila with a £25 gift certificate to use in any shop in the Arcade.
Andrew said: 'Lila's design was very simple and eye-catching. It was instantly recognisable, and that was exactly what we wanted.
'Her Victorian gentleman summed up the Victorian theme very well, and it is already on display in the Victorian Arcade and will be live on our website.'
The website is still under construction, but to find out more about the shops in the Victorian Arcade visit http://www.victorianarcade.co.uk">www.victorianarcade.co.uk
