WALKERS will be lighting up the night as they take part in the first Marie Curie night trek over Dartmoor.
The fundraising event, named Darkmoor, takes place on Saturday, August 20 and will see participants walk ten miles across the moor in the dark.
Community fundraiser Connie Thomas said: ‘The walk will start at 10pm, which is the same time Marie Curie nurses will be arriving at the homes of people living with a terminal illness, ready to provide free, hands-on nursing care.
‘Our walkers will be trekking across Dartmoor raising money to ensure more hours of care can be provided, with the moon and stars above and their torchlight to guide them.’
The walk is being supported by Spirit of Adventures Mountain Guides and Raynet to make sure everyone gets around safely.
Every walker will get a free trekking T-shirt as well as a free Ni-Glo keychain, refreshment, a medal and a goodie bag filled with treats from the region.
Minimum age is 14 and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Contact 0845 0524184 or visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/dartmoor-night
