NEVER mind Jay-Z, The Verve and Kings of Leon, one of Okehampton's own is set to rock the fields of Somerset this weekend. Okehampton-born Paul Meardon, and his band, Light Syndicate, will be playing Glastonbury Festival this weekend after winning a slot in theprestigious Late and Live tent, which returns to the festival this year. The Okehampton keyboardist's quartet impressed festival organisers to such an extent that they were asked to play on the festival's opening night. The band are now based in Manchester, signed to Pushbike Records, and have received positive reviews from BBC Radio 1, NME, Indie Credential and Manchester Music. Their debut album, Last in Line, will be on general release nation-wide from August 18.
