TAVISTOCK Subscription Library is appealing for new members and will be hosting an open day for people to find out more about the service next week.

The library was established more than 200 years ago in 1799, and now houses a treasury of works on local subjects and by local authors.

The library will be holding an open day on Saturday, November 9 at its base in Court Gate, adjacent to Tavistock Museum, between 10am and 5pm.
