FRIENDS of Tavistock library are looking for more buddies to join their group.
The society has been up and running for three years holding regular friendly, informal discussions in the library resources room.
Now they are preparing to hold their third annual meeting on Thursday July 22 and would like to encourage more people to join them.
The friends have two main aims ? to support and encourage library activities such as visits from authors and guest speakers and to raise money for events, resources and activities not covered by Devon Library Services.
So far these have included visits from children?s authors, a wheel chair and a soon-to-arrive addition to the children?s area ? a play pen.
The next event in the library calendar has also been made possible in part through the Society of Friends ? the group has helped to organise a murder mystery evening as part of the library?s ?Week of Crime? which will run from July 5-10.
The Saturday night murder mystery starts at 7.30pm, costs £2 and will include various nibbles and tipples.
Earlier in the week, on Wednesday July 7, the friends will be helping out with a cheese and wine evening complementing what promises to be a fascinating talk by crime writer Bernard Knight.
