Cutting back grass and undergrowth, first at Mary Tavy Recreation Ground and then at Morwellham Quay were the tasks for the day.
Mr Walter said the beautiful environment of West Devon was our greatest resource, benefitting local people and visitors alike.
He said: ?Tavistock and District Conservation Project does a fantastic job looking after woodland, paths, hedges, gates, stiles and stone walls.
?It also provides invaluable work experience and skills training for young people in the area. It fills a gap which public bodies could never fill.?
