LEWDOWN Cricket Club had had a busy winter and is all set for a successful season.

They have acquired the services of Australian level 2 qualified coach John Varcoe, who has been coaching all age groups in Australia for the past ten years. He, alongside the club?s own three level 1 qualified coaches and the purchase of a new bowling machine will be able to offer top quality coaching to all ages and abilities.

Also for the coming season Lewdown CC, who provide league, friendly and evening cricket as well as having three youth sides, will boast a new pavilion with large changing rooms, showers, clubroom and undercover veranda.

With funding confirmed from Awards for All and the Lord?s Taverners for a new all-weather astroturf strip, as well as the two outdoor nets and a score box, which are already in place, the facilities are as good as they come.

Coaching during the season will be on Wednesday evenings for youth and Thursday evenings for seniors from May onwards. Pre-season indoor nets are already underway at Okehampton Community College Sports Hall on alternate Sundays and Thursdays from today (Thursday) and Sunday April 4.
