IT is a much quoted platitude that turkeys would not vote for Christmas and yet two beneficiaries of enormous EU funding: Cornwall and Wales have voted to cut it off.
Perhaps they think that what remains of the UK will now pick up the bill. Regrettably I suspect that any funds saved will have to be used to shore up our weakened economy and for the turkeys of Cornwall and Wales Christmas is going to be rather extended.
