FOLLOWING your excellent front-page piece (July 18) about Redrow's proposal to develop the Anderton Lane meadow in Whitchurch, I was thrilled with the large number of people who came along to look at the display of plans last Thursday.

Whitchurch Community Hall was very busy for the whole four hours and a lot of questions were asked, concern expressed and written responses made to Redrow.

The proposal is now online at http://www.redrow-tavistock.co.uk">www.redrow-tavistock.co.uk if you want to look at it again.

All of our councillors need to know what we think about the Redrow proposals and I would urge you to email them directly through the Councillors' page on the WDBC website: http://www.westdevon.gov.uk">www.westdevon.gov.uk.

IT'S ironic that Redrow's proposal to build over three more green fields in the Tiddy Brook valley should emerge during National Countryside Week.

Should we construe this timing as corporate ineptitude, insensitivity or over-confidence?
