MEADOWLANDS at Tavistock and Parklands Leisure Centre at Okehampton have retained approved training centre status for the Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS), with the standard being set by the Institute of Qualified Lifeguards (IQL) following an annual IQL audit of Leisure Connection's pools.
Owned by West Devon Borough Council and operated in partnership with Leisure Connection, the pools scored 100% in the audit, which was carried out last month.
Leisure Connection is one of the only multi-site operators to renew and retain Approved Training Centre status in 100% of its centres.
Last year, Leisure Connection offered 35 training courses and qualified more than 300 lifeguards across the country.
